Hard luck to the Irish Mixed Foursomes on Sunday, losing to Wicklow GC with the home team playing in horrific weather! Thanks to all the team - Marc and Alison, and Dan Meaney and Susan who played at home and Ann T, Ian Williams, Anne Marie Kerney, Aidan Butler, and Gerry and Ger Grehan who all played in Wicklow.
Another super win by the Bloom girls today, beating Elm Park in the second leg - having a 2-1 score in the first leg. Huge congrats to Annette, Alison, Barbara, Emily, Judith and Susan and also a big 'well done' to the manager Anne Gildea. Semi final now girls. Onwards KGC!
Another wonderfully exciting win, 3-2 , for the Minor team against Edmondstown. At two matches all, Lisa Lynch was all square after 18 and put us through nailbiting suspense to win out on 21st hole! Well done to Elaine, Lisa, Eileen, Ornagh and Suzanne, their caddies and also to managers Ann Turley and Mary Gough. Onwards girls!
'The Super Senior team' played its round yesterday in the 2022 competition, with a drawn match against Grange golf club, 2.5 points each. We ended up joint fourth in the division, which included Powerscourt, Elm Park, Stackstown, Clontarf and Grange. Only one team (probably Stackstown) goes forward to the knockout stage, so we have time off to regroup and improve for the 2023 season! A total of fifteen members played in the five matches which are played on a 'four ball better ball' format, with five groups of two from each team.
Hard luck to the Carton Cup girls losing today in the second round against Old Conna. It was a very close match and both Aine and Bernie won their matches with Aimee, Elaine and Paula losing very narrowly. A great golfing experience for you all and many thanks to the managers Judith and Barbara.

The men's Pierce Purcell team suffered an agonising defeat yesterday to Rathfarnham G.C. (3-2) in the 2nd round. The tie rested on the final match in Rathfarnham and that had to be decided on the 19th hole.
A superb effort by the whole squad managed by Tony Bourke and Jack Kearney.
Well done to the Bloom girls with a great 2-1 result in the first leg at home against Elm Park in absolutely horrific weather conditions. Great golf played by all - Annette and Ger, Barbara and Emily, and Judith and Susan. Also many thanks to the Manager Anne Gildea. Roll on the next leg in Elm Park on 17 th June.
The Pierce Purcell Shield team narrowly missed going through to the next round of the competition.
