Sincere thank you to all who contributed to a very successful Captains Day. The golfing Gods were smiling on us with glorious weather (though maybe a tad too hot for some) for once. Huge congratulations to Noelle Kennedy and Phil Stern our overall Captain winners. It is great to see all the new faces at this event. Thank you again for taking the time to attend our main event of the year.
After a narrow defeat away to Slade Valley, a draw with Clontarf, a proper beating from Killeen, the Super Seniors came good and completed the season on a high by defeating Castle in a tense finish. (All the Castle matches were away and few members of our team had played more than 1 round there previously).
Congratulations to the Carton Cup team on a great win against Greystones last month. Thank you to everyone involved from players to caddies, managers to caterers. We are into the third round and face playing on the challenging Powerscourt Golf Course. The away leg will be played on Wednesday 14th June first tee time 15.45 and the home match will be played quite soon after on Sunday 18th June first tee time 15.15. We have a fantastic team, full of enthusiasm, energy, and great talent! Do come and support the ladies if you can!
A great match home to Druids Heath last weekend in the Cullen Cup. Unfortunately it didn't go our way on the day. We won 2 matches at home and lost 2 away and the final match lost on the 18th final putt. ! Thanks to all won played for Kilmashogue GC.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances the scarifying of the greens has had to be postponed. A revised date will be notified as soon as possible.
On Thursday 11th May, the greens will be scarified. This requires that the course be closed until 11.00am. This work is essential for the wellbeing of the greens.
In the Metropolitan Trophy we were unfortunately beaten, 4.5 to 2.5, by a very strong (and in parts very young) Dun Laoghaire Team yesterday in glorious golfing weather. Thanks to Marc Thornton Team manager for gathering a valiant team together. Well done to the team consisting of Marc Thornton, Ger Grehan, Frank Doyle (a debutante), Chris Latham, Robert Lambert, Aidan Butler and Ger Murphy who all represented KGC in an exemplary way. Thanks to Geoff Brooks, Jack Ebbs and Men's Captain Kevin for managerial efforts on the day. Thank you to those who supported the team in KGC. Our thanks also goes to Stuart and his team in getting the course prepared following the bad weather on Saturday.
Congratulations to all who played in various Competitions and all Prizewinners.
