The men's Pierce Purcell team suffered an agonising defeat yesterday to Rathfarnham G.C. (3-2) in the 2nd round. The tie rested on the final match in Rathfarnham and that had to be decided on the 19th hole.
A superb effort by the whole squad managed by Tony Bourke and Jack Kearney.
Well done to the Bloom girls with a great 2-1 result in the first leg at home against Elm Park in absolutely horrific weather conditions. Great golf played by all - Annette and Ger, Barbara and Emily, and Judith and Susan. Also many thanks to the Manager Anne Gildea. Roll on the next leg in Elm Park on 17 th June.
The Pierce Purcell Shield team narrowly missed going through to the next round of the competition.

The Metropolitan Trophy against Delgany GC will take place on Monday 6th June starting at 4.30pm. All support welcome.

Superb win by our Carton Cup girls today against Greystones with a fabulous 4.5 win. Well done to Aine Doyle, Aimee Williams, Bernie Barry, Elaine StLeger and Paula Collins. And also managers Judith and Barbara.
Best of luck to the girls playing in the Carton Cup this evening. This is a new venture for KGC - it's a 9 hole competition for handicaps over 37. Thanks to Judith who set up the GIGS in KGC, we have a very good team playing against Greystones. Good luck to Aine Doyle, Aimee Williams, Bernie Barry, Elaine St. Leger and Paula Collins and of course the managers Judith and Barbara.
A great effort from our Cullen Cup team this evening in a match that was played on a knives edge to the bitter end.
KGC took on a strong Blessington Lakes team and won our two away matches. However, luck was not on our side at home losing 2 matches on 18 and 1 match on 19 leaving the final score at 3-2 to Blessington Lakes.
Many thanks to Marc, Dee and the team as well as all those who came out in support.
Superb win today by our Minor Ladies beating Grange Castle 4-1. Well done to Ornagh and Deirdra in Ggrange Castle, Lisa, Dinka and Elaine at home and of course the managers, Mary Gough and Anne Hackett. Roll on the next round!

Kilmashogue GC 3 Greystones GC 2
KGC played today against Greystones GC in the AIG Pierce Purcell Shield.
We wish Marc Thornton & Deirdra Healy the very best of luck this afternoon in their quarter final of the Killiney Invitation Mixed Matchplay. This is, we understand, the first time that a KILMASHOGUE team has reached the quarterfinals. We are all cheering you on - good luck.
A super result for our Metropolitan Trophy team this evening beating Killiney 4-3 in the first round.
We had 3 matches at home, winning all 3 with outstanding scoring from Chris Latham, Scott McCreadie and Marc Thornton. The four matches away were all fiercely fought. The Killiney greens proving as tricky as ever.
However, Gerry Grehan secured victory for KGC on the 17th with a sparkling 2nd shot.
Massive congrats to Dermot King, Pat Gallagher and their team.
Onwards and upwards as we await to hear who they will face in the next round.
Hard luck to the Challenge girls today against Old Conna. We won one at home, one away and Eileen Hickey lost on 20 th in Old Conna. A very tough match. Thanks to Anne Hackett, Eileen Hickey, Anne O'Dea, Patricia Lewis and Bernie Barry and also to managers Emily and Noelle.
