News

It was close. Very, very close.  After losing two matches in KGC the news came through that we had won one in Killiney (Anne Marie & Aidan).  One match was still alive in KGC.  Marc & Jude were all square in KGC through 16, 17 and 18.  Up the 19th and a big crowd is now following.
The Irish Mixed Foursomes team will play Killiney today in KGC & Killiney at 4.00 p.m.  We have three pairs in KGC and 2 pairs in Killiney.  Please support the team - Marc, Jude, Barbara, Susan, Dan, Tom, Breda, Seamus, Anne Marie & Aidan.
Wow! What a great start to the team golf season.  For the first time KGC won 4 out of 5 wins over the last weekend.
Continuing the winning streak,  congrats to men’s All Ireland Four Ball who beat Bray GC away in the second round ! Jim Nix and Robert Hayes won the match on the 19th in KGC
A fantastic win today in the Irish Mixed Foursomes.  3 Teams at Home - all won - despite one team being 3 down and going on to win on the 18th.    And an amazing win away in Grange-  Anne Marie Kerney & Aidan Butler won 6Up on 13th hole.
Please support our Irish Mixed Foursomes Team this Friday at 2.30.  Three pairs in Kilmashogue and two pairs in Grange.
On Sunday the KGC All Ireland 4 Ball team beat Dun Laoighaire GC by 4 -1 in the first round. Great wins at home but especially the away win by Donal Coughlan and Patrick Hagin – Meade. Many new faces representing KGC for the first time. Many thanks to Manager Mark Donovan who was assisted on the day by Liam Heritage and Dermot King.

See below some photos from the Ladies Christmas lunch.  As you can see it was a lovely occasion with some great golf followed by lunch.  Captain Anne gave all the ladies a beautiful  jar of home-made preserves to take home.  There was some interesting entertainment including a brilliant sketch by Jennifer Sowman which involved a pant-suit and a wedding but that's all we can say - as they say what goes on in the club-house stays in the club-house!  A group of ladies performed a flash-dance to Bee Gee's Staying Alive which they had been practising as a surprise for Captain Anne, who said it was now clear what the ladies had been up to on the Tuesday's in November/December when the course was closed!
